I am a geospatial developer and analyst currently based in Raleigh, North Carolina. My journey into this field wasn't a straight line. I started as a traditional GIS user, fascinated by the ability to map the world, but I quickly realized that standard tools weren't enough to solve the complex environmental problems I cared about.
Over the last few years, I’ve transitioned from simply making maps to building the systems that power them. My path has taken me from the classrooms of NC State to research terms with NASA DEVELOP and North Carolina Sea Grant. Along the way, I’ve learned that technical skills like Python and database management aren't just "computer science" concepts: they are essential tools for protecting our ecosystems. When I’m not debugging code or running spatial models, I enjoy exploring the landscapes I study, whether that’s the Appalachian mountains or the Carolina coast.
